This is spying. Isn't it FUN?

Brody attending the meeting Walker had so casually mentioned turned into a three ring circus. More than one person involved was convinced the whole thing was a wild goose chase, including Carrie occasionally. If she hadn't seen Walker as up close and personal as she had when they were first rescued, she could have been convinced. Maybe sending Brody to a regular meeting for returning vets who were also Muslim was just a kind of fuck you from a man who felt he'd been betrayed by a brother soldier. Or it could be something much more sinister. The problem was, no one could really figure out what that sinister was supposed to be. Carrie continued to maintain that Brody had no idea what was going on.

The questions Brody faced right after the meeting ranged from if he knew any of the people there already to how was he planning to overthrow the US government. When the questions headed that way a majority of the time, Carrie called foul and got Brody out of there. With full understanding of the irony involved, they had decided that the cover that would work best with his family was that he was working with other vets on integrating back into the world. Carrie would have felt a lot worse about that if it was just being used to cover up them fucking around. She still felt pretty shitty about it given how much stress it was putting on him.

They took their own cars back to her place. She got there before him and immediately opened a fresh bottle of wine, leaving a full glass on the counter for him, then she went upstairs to change into something decidedly less official looking.

He hugged her back, laying his cheek against her hair. "I know you tried. I just feel like I'm being used. Not by you, but by your bosses."

She exhaled deeply. "That's because you are." And by her, to a lesser extent, but at least she was trying to mitigate that. She rubbed his back slowly. "Maybe I should have told them everything when I first learned it, maybe they wouldn't be looking at you so closely now."

"And maybe if you had, I'd still be rotting over there. At least, here, I'm not as worried about getting blown up." Which was a lie. He was still very worried about being blown up. It just wasn't a rational fear here.

"Doesn't matter now, anyhow. I know they are going to use me there's nothing left. And I'm probably not going to get a whole lot out of it."

She knew as well as he did that if there was anything to this, they might all still get blown up. It wasn't what he needed to hear at the moment, though, so she shifted direction. "The faster we can figure out what's going on, the faster we can get you out of it all."

She looked up at him. "This isn't what I'd hoped for us that first night you came over."

He nodded. "I know it wasn't. But it's what we have." That he hated just about every moment of it, except when they were alone, just made it harder to accept.

With a low sigh, he finished his wine, then brushed his fingers over her cheek. "I don't want to talk about that anymore tonight."

She leaned into the touch with a soft smile. She was more than happy to forget about all of it in favor of being close. They always did so much better when they were just them, with nothing else around them. "I will talk about anything you want. Or nothing at all."

"I think we should talk about how you want me to cook those steaks. That sounds like a good idea." Continuing to hug her, he nuzzled into her hair.

"Then I think we should go upstairs."

She laughed brightly, her hand sliding lower to grab his ass. "Upstairs is the best part of that." She turned to kiss his jaw, then pulled back slowly because she knew if they didn't let go soon, those steaks wouldn't get cooked at all. "Medium rare, if you would? Spices are over the stove." She cleared her throat. "Those I have. Honest."

He actually laughed when she pulled away. "I didn't say I would cook now. I just said we should talk about it." Then he pulled her back to him, actually kissing her this time.

"Oh, well, the--" She was happy to be interrupted by the kiss. Moving her grip on him so her arms were around his neck, she shifted up onto her toes so she could press against him. There wasn't much to what she was wearing and there was nothing at all under it, so she could feel his heat.

He slid his arms down to her waist, then grabbed her hips. He lifted her up to sit on the counter, pressing firmly between her legs. Now that they were at a more equal height, he was able to deepen the kiss.

While kissing her, he pushed at her pants, trying to get them down even as he pressed against her.

She went along with him happily, wrapping her legs around him on the way up, then pulling him close once she was settled. She had to shift back a little so he could get her pants down, something she didn't fight him on at all until her bare ass hit cold counter. Then she squeaked in complaint. "What about going to bed? Soft bed. WARM bed."

She ran her thumb over his lips. "Fuck, I want to get you naked so badly."

"Don't need a bed for naked." He wasn't willing to give up the counter just yet, even if her ass was cold. He pulled away from her long enough to pull his shirt off, then he was back against her, leaving her to deal with his pants now that hers had been.

She kept squirming, mostly for effect, and allowed herself to be distracted by touching his bare chest and back for a while before getting to work on his pants. He'd filled out so much since they were together after his rescue, but she thought he'd never get back the body she first touched. She felt like she kept learning him over and over. Now his injuries had healed to scars and some of those were fading, not that she'd ever minded them.

She didn't so much get his pants off as get her hand inside them. Once there, she got a little distracted.

He groaned against her lips when she got her hand on him. It was all he could do without breaking from the kiss. And that would come soon enough.

His body was healing, yes, but his mind was taking longer. He seemed to only make progress with her. And some of it was tenuous. But, in that moment, he didn't care. All that mattered was touching her.

Carrie laughed at the way he groaned, but the sound was thick with her own need. Touching him was like injecting a drug that cleared her mind and settled her jumpy imagination. From their first night together she knew they had something special. Now she stroked him slowly, wanting to draw out another of those groans.

She got another of those groans, then he pushed his pants down. He broke the kiss and smiled. "I need you, Carrie."

She glanced down at where her hand was wrapped around his already hard cock. Raising her eyebrow at him, she grinned. "Really?" She stroked him a few times, her grip tightening. "I think we can manage that."

She let him go and slid forward a little on the counter. She needed him, too, all the more so for hearing him say it out loud.

He pressed forward, taking her with a few, increasingly deep, thrusts. Once he was deep inside her, he started kissing her again, while not moving.

His hands settled on her hips, holding her close as he started to move. Even though they started out slow and gentle, he knew it wasn't going to last. He wanted her too badly for that.

She placed her hands on his cheeks, holding him in the kiss to keep from screaming when he paused. She barely needed any time at all when they were like this, all need and conflict. She did have the advantage that even with him holding her hips, she could tighten around him and give them both more sensation.

He was, rather quickly, up to speed and driving into her. He started grunting and moaning in the kiss, pushing his body to the edge. Knowing that they still had time, that he was 'on a retreat' until the next day, meant that they had the time to enjoy each other, after the edge had been taken off.

Carrie had to drop one hand off his face and down to his shoulder when her fingers clenched. She moaned his name, pleading with him to give her everything, knowing their time allowances as well as he did. Next round, or the one after, would be about quiet exploration. Now she wanted him to come close to hurting her to show just how badly he needed her.

His fingers dug deeply into her hips, pulling her right to the edge of the counter so he could pound into her. He was going to come close to hurting both of them at this rate. And he was okay with that, in the part of his mind that was capable of even considering it.

Suddenly something inside her broke loose. She had to reach back to grab at the cabinets to try and stabilize herself. Her cry of pleasure was strangled by her surprise. If she'd had the air, she would have begged him to come with her, to stay with her, but she couldn't manage it.

She didn't have to beg. He was right there. He gave that last thrust and cried her name as he came. His body jerked against hers and he finally had to let go of her hips to hold himself up.

The analyst on duty was clearly going to get an earful over the course of the evening.
