This is spying. Isn't it FUN?

Brody attending the meeting Walker had so casually mentioned turned into a three ring circus. More than one person involved was convinced the whole thing was a wild goose chase, including Carrie occasionally. If she hadn't seen Walker as up close and personal as she had when they were first rescued, she could have been convinced. Maybe sending Brody to a regular meeting for returning vets who were also Muslim was just a kind of fuck you from a man who felt he'd been betrayed by a brother soldier. Or it could be something much more sinister. The problem was, no one could really figure out what that sinister was supposed to be. Carrie continued to maintain that Brody had no idea what was going on.

The questions Brody faced right after the meeting ranged from if he knew any of the people there already to how was he planning to overthrow the US government. When the questions headed that way a majority of the time, Carrie called foul and got Brody out of there. With full understanding of the irony involved, they had decided that the cover that would work best with his family was that he was working with other vets on integrating back into the world. Carrie would have felt a lot worse about that if it was just being used to cover up them fucking around. She still felt pretty shitty about it given how much stress it was putting on him.

They took their own cars back to her place. She got there before him and immediately opened a fresh bottle of wine, leaving a full glass on the counter for him, then she went upstairs to change into something decidedly less official looking.

She edited his response to immediately exclude his kids, but in the mood she was in, that was the best she could do. His wife might have well have popped right out of existence right then. With a whimper, she sank down onto him, taking him all the way in on that first, hard thrust. Hard enough that it hurt a little, even as she clutched at him to pull him deeper. "Good. Good."

He fought to keep his eyes open as she took him, moaning her name as he clung to her hips. He wasn't going to move. That was part of the claiming. It had to be her.

After the incredibly long moment it took her to catch her breath, Carrie moved slowly, savoring the sensation of him moving inside her. She might be the active participant, but he was claiming her as much as anything else going on. He had a hold of her in a way she didn't understand. "The best."

He licked his lips and nodded. "You are. Yes."

She shook her head. "Us." She wasn't this good with anyone else and she told him that in a low whisper. "Us."

"Us." He licked his lips again, then sat up to kiss her. His arms went around her waist and he shifted so she could move against him.

She matched his pose, holding on tightly so she had the right leverage to give him the most powerful thrusts. She needed this to be as intense physically as it was emotionally. Her movements stayed slow so she could keep him right with her.

Being right against her like this, touching her with as much of his body as he could, made the whole thing that much more intense for him. He was going to be emotionally raw by the time they were done.

Carrie caressed his face, drawing him into the kiss. It was necessary, needed, and she could almost feel how much of him he was handing over. "Love you. Want to be with you." She whispered the words between kisses and low whimpers.

Only a fool would want to be with him, a fool or a damned crazy person. His own wife didn't want to be with him. She was afraid of him. His kids were afraid of him. But Carrie wasn't. She took it all and kept right on wanting him.

The only thing he knew to do with that was accept it.

It wasn't that he didn't scare her. It was that she wasn't bothered at all by being scared. That was just part of who she was. She was pretty scary in her own right, in her own way. She said it again, before shuddering hard. She was on the edge, dangerously on the edge.

He nodded, kissing her deeply to try and keep her with him a little more. He just needed a little more.

Her breathing became oddly regular, deep pants designed to help her focus. Focusing on meeting his thrusts at just the right moment and focusing on not digging her nails into his scalp were about all she could manage. She had to nip at him with every kiss. She had to.

The nips finished him. He cried out against her lips as he bucked under her. His arms tightened around her and he fought for breath, even as he kissed her harder.

She fell with him, biting him hard enough to break the skin when she did. The taste of blood made her cry out more sharply. They were going to be so battered when this was over.

The taste of blood shocked him and he was still for a moment before he started kissing her hard. It was a near thing, his panic, so close to the surface just for as raw as he was, that the kiss was the only thing keeping him in the present.

Finally she had to stop moving, to collapse against him with a sob. She hid her face against his shoulder and hugged him tightly. The tang of his blood on her lips made her shiver. "Didn't mean to do that. Never want to hurt you."

He nodded, his cheek pressed to her hair. "I know." His voice was shaky and he had to swallow a few times before he could speak again. "I'll be okay. We'll be okay."

That assertion was clearly about so much more than one bit lip, whether he meant it that way or not, that she softly apologized again. Then she nodded. "We will. Together."

"Together." He pressed harder against her, then laid back, pulling her down with him. He exhaled, long and low. "Gonna have to discharge, in that case. Take the medical."

The change in topic was so sudden that she pulled back to stare at him. "What? Why?" She shook her head. "No. I said we'd figure it out." She exhaled slowly as she curled against him. "This time I'll do what I said."

He touched her face and kissed her forehead. "Okay. We'll figure it out."

He didn't sound terribly convincing, which only drove her to think more about what she could do to protect him. She hadn't stepped up last time, hadn't reached for what she knew was a good thing, and he'd been captured. "Won't let them take you again."

He nodded, clinging to her. He wasn't sure she could actually do anything, but he wasn't going to stop her from trying. He'd never do that now.

She finally had to reach for her pants when she started getting chilly. Kissing her chest on her way up, she sighed deeply. "What I wouldn't give for this to be simple." She glanced down at him. "Maybe we should just stay out here."
