Briefings with Saul were getting more and more tense. Carrie could feel the strain on all of them as a real, palpable thing. Beside her, no one had ever had much faith in Brody, which was largely her fault. How could she explain her change of heart without explaining it was exactly that. What was harder was not telling him about how bad it was. Every time she was vague it was a physical pain.

The final straw was a heated conversation about what they would do if he were found out, revealed to be on a mission. They had escape plans, but it was clear very few people in that room gave a damn if they worked. Or if they even existed. She'd been through hell for the man they were dismissing like so much dross and all because... She wasn't that sure why because at this point. It was about Saul, really, and she knew that. That's why when he made a passing comment that made it sound damn like he'd made his decision and Brody didn't figure into it at all, she felt her stomach lurch so badly she almost had to leave the room.

She didn't go to him that night, that would be stupid. She waited a day, all of which was spent wondering when she would throw up. She got there late, just before dark, and sat back to watch the men finish up before meal break. He looked good. Better than when she saw him last, even.

She could think of better places for him to kiss, but they'd need to take some things off first. "During the day it can see we aren't hurting each other. Still, it'll have to learn." Not that they tended to be that loud when they went at it. Not really. Maybe that would change when they had a space that was really theirs.

She smiled at him, letting her feelings show. "I'm about as real as it gets." Warts and all, she was real. She kept her one hand where it was, kneading gently. Her other hand worked under his shirt so she could caress his skin.

Then she went back to kissing him, slow and deep. She was happy with starting slow, but she knew there would be a point where she was all for the rest of his alternate plan.

He moaned in the kiss, his hands clenching against her. The war going on inside him had to be obvious to her, in the way his body reacted and the way his moan sounded. He had to go slow so he wouldn't hurt her. Or himself. The speed changed everything and the only way to keep them both safe was to fight with himself even as he surrendered to her.

He had to know she was so much stronger than she looked and that she wanted him just as much as he clearly wanted her. Still, she could feel this shaking that just wasn't him. She'd been with enough men under the influence to know the difference.

He nodded, perfectly fine with her taking the lead with his shirt. His arms stayed around her, where they could do the least amount of damage. He shuddered again when her fingers brushed against skin and he moved to kiss her again, to ground himself in her.

She grinned slightly at how easily he allowed her access. Feeling him shiver from pleasure was even better and she pressed firmly into the kiss with a soft moan. The first moments, when they started, were always so delicious. "Going to make you walk around the house naked. Just for me."

"Better be just for you. Not putting on a show for everyone, you know." He groaned again at the full heat of her hands against his chest, his body pressing toward her.

She laughed softly. She was well done with being watched or listened to. Forever. She gave him a little bit of nails, pressing as she moved her hands down his chest. After a moment, she leaned forward to add her lips, kissing him softly in contrast to her nails.

Groaning, his head dropped back. He couldn't watch her. He had to just feel it. Jess never took the same care with his scars as Carrie had. It was strange, really, how profound the difference really was. It was the thing that made Carrie someone he could actually trust with himself and Jess someone who scared him, no matter how hard he tried.

Scars on the outside didn't scar her anymore than the scars on the inside. She had enough of them of her own that if they showed, she'd be as marked up as him. Those marks weren't something he did to himself, which was more than she could say about some of hers. She worked down, nipping and kissing, until she realized her hands were shaking.

Just for fun, she dropped one hand lower, brushing over his crotch lightly. She wondered if he'd jump.

That worked. Of course, pinned the way she was, she couldn't do too much more about molesting him without knocking them off their feet. That didn't mean she didn't try. She was hoping as much to get a laugh out of him as another delicious moan. They were alone, they were together. That was reason enough for both.

He could feel her limited ability to further grope him and he did laugh, right against her lips, at her attempt. Then he did release her. His hands went to her cheeks and he held her head still so that he could just look at her a moment.

Of course, that look gave her a chance to see the war going on inside him. He was twitchy, unfocused to an extent, and wide-eyed. But he still managed to smile for her.

She blinked hard at his expression, vowing to herself that she'd never see it again. Then she smiled slightly and wriggled in his grip. "Gonna hold me down and use me?" Her voice was carefully pitched to come just short of pleading with him that he do exactly that. It would give him focus and undoubtedly give him a great deal of pleasure.

His lip curled dangerously even as he focused more on her. It was a proposition that had a certain level of potential violence attached to it and he knew even if he went ahead, he would have to be careful. She would have to make sure he was careful.

He was, however, still a guy and he nodded. "Until you tell me to stop." And he was deadly serious about that. She had to keep them safe. He couldn't.

She met his eyes squarely and nodded. She could see all the caveats pretty clearly in his expression. That and the way his arms tightened every so slightly around her. It was a delicious hint of his physical power, something she'd always liked.

It wouldn't do either of them any good if he hurt her. They needed to be able to trust each other completely. That didn't mean they had to be gentle, just to trust.

He nodded and released her only long enough to pull both their shirts off. Then he grabbed her upper arms and pulled her into another kiss. The way he held her forced her up on her tip toes and her body against his. He moaned even as he thrust his tongue into her mouth.

His approach surprised her as she'd expected to be flung at the bed. For the moment, she liked this better, much better, because it kept her against him. He had a good enough grip on her that she could buck toward him without loosing her footing, much. Of course that just drove her harder against him.

As she fell against him, he kissed her harder. Then he started moving them toward the bed. His grip was hard enough on her arms that she had no choice but to go with him and she was still going to end up with bruises.

Once they reached the bed, he laid her out under him and used his weight to pin her down so he could get to work on her pants.

She wasn't the least bit alarmed by the idea of bruises. She almost craved them as proof that they trusted each other. Arching and twisting under him, more to get against him than to help him, she whimpered with need. He had to know how badly she wanted him.
