Briefings with Saul were getting more and more tense. Carrie could feel the strain on all of them as a real, palpable thing. Beside her, no one had ever had much faith in Brody, which was largely her fault. How could she explain her change of heart without explaining it was exactly that. What was harder was not telling him about how bad it was. Every time she was vague it was a physical pain.

The final straw was a heated conversation about what they would do if he were found out, revealed to be on a mission. They had escape plans, but it was clear very few people in that room gave a damn if they worked. Or if they even existed. She'd been through hell for the man they were dismissing like so much dross and all because... She wasn't that sure why because at this point. It was about Saul, really, and she knew that. That's why when he made a passing comment that made it sound damn like he'd made his decision and Brody didn't figure into it at all, she felt her stomach lurch so badly she almost had to leave the room.

She didn't go to him that night, that would be stupid. She waited a day, all of which was spent wondering when she would throw up. She got there late, just before dark, and sat back to watch the men finish up before meal break. He looked good. Better than when she saw him last, even.

"That sounds reasonable." He did not have a single problem with that. He'd hopefully, finally, learned enough to be pretty good at being a dad. It was going to be fun.

She watched him for a long moment, then closed her eyes and groaned softly. "It's all a cult. So weird." She shrugged. "Never expected to be a part of it."

He nuzzled in close and chuckled softly. "Lot of things you probably never expected. Then I came along and changed some things. You can spend the rest of your life blaming me, if you'd like."

She grumbled softly, even as she pressed harder against him. "Kind of a shock to the system." She shrugged slightly. "I'm getting used to it. Don't think I'll blame you. Made my choices." She shrugged. "Happy with them, so far. Ask me again when I'm huge."

He chuckled softly and nodded. "I'm quite sure you will tell me." He rubbed her arm and fell silent, just enjoying her company.

She snorted. "Yeah, I hold back so well where you're concerned." She leaned over and kissed him lightly. Then she sighed softly and cuddled a little closer. "What else do I have to look forward to? The whole thing is so...primitive."

"Weird cravings, mood swings, altered sleep patterns, tender breasts, increased libido..." He winked after that last one, leaving her to guess if that was true or not.

She gave him a long, hard look, then laughed easily. "You better rest up, big boy. You know what I'm like normally. An increase might be damaging to your health." She shook her head. "Besides the tits, that all sounds like normal me."

He smirked. "Then you should be fine, baby."

He ran his fingers along her arm, then kissed her lightly. "What would you like for dinner tonight?"

She grabbed him and pulled him back for a deeper kiss, moaning softly. She still wasn't used to the idea that she could do that whenever she wanted. They slept together every night, woke up together. It made her dizzy. She touched his face lightly. "We should find the best pizza place. We'll need to know."

Leaning into the touch, he nodded. "We should start with the first one in the phone book and go from there." He gave her another kiss, then reached for the phone book. "What do you want on it?"

She reached for him, wanting more kisses, then dropped her hand when she realized it would put off his call. "Meat. More meat." She thought for a moment. "Onions."

She closed her eyes for a moment. "Try a place that has a branch near the house, if you can. Might as well try places we'll actually use."

Not that the town was that big, but it was big enough to make ordering pizza actually take thought.

He chuckled. "And you'll want me to kiss you later? Meat, meat, and onions." He flipped through the phone book and found a place that was near the house but would still deliver to them at the motel. Then he grabbed the room phone and placed their order.

Once that was handled, he turned back to her and kissed her, seeing what she would do with it.

She laughed softly. "All kinds of places to kiss." She ran a hand along his thigh to make the point. Then he was kissing her properly and she shifted so she was firmly against him. Her arms went around his neck so she could hold him close. When she pulled back, she grinned at him. "I like kissing you."

"I like kissing you, too." He nuzzled at her, then went back in to kiss her again. "I love kissing you."

Hearing him say that sent a thrill through her. She shivered against him and nodded slowly. "I'm going to insist you kiss me a lot. At least once an hour."

He laughed, shaking his head. "How am I going to do that while we are sleeping, or working?"

She shrugged. "You're a clever boy. You'll figure something out." She kissed him lightly. "I'll give you a pass for work, but not sleep. I'm right there after all."

He growled his amusement and shifted so she was stuck under him. Then he ground his hips against her and started kissing her neck. "You'll never get any sleep that way."

She laughed brightly. "Not if you're squishing me, no." She shook her head, then shifted so she could get one leg around his hips. She paused for a moment when she realized that it wasn't going to be that long before they couldn't lay that way. "I will, too. You'd be amazed what I can sleep through." She'd slept in war zones, just like he had. Not to mention sleeping through his snoring.

He smirked. "You'd be amazed my tactics to wake someone up..."

She laughed softly right up until she thought about what he might try. Then she groaned deeply. He was probably right, which wasn't fair at all. She shuddered a little, not unhappily. "We'll have to test that at some point."

He laughed. "Yes, we will." He gave her another rough kiss, then pulled back. Better not start something the pizza guy would not let them finish.

She started to chase him, then remembered about the food. Whimpering, she tucked close to him. "We have to work on timing." She groaned loudly, wanting him to feel some of her displeasure about it all. "Wild sex first, then food, then sleep." She ticked them off on her fingers.

"You were hungry..." He nipped her fingertip, then pulled himself up off the bed. If he stayed there, clothes would come off. And the poor pizza guy would be in for a shock.
