Briefings with Saul were getting more and more tense. Carrie could feel the strain on all of them as a real, palpable thing. Beside her, no one had ever had much faith in Brody, which was largely her fault. How could she explain her change of heart without explaining it was exactly that. What was harder was not telling him about how bad it was. Every time she was vague it was a physical pain.

The final straw was a heated conversation about what they would do if he were found out, revealed to be on a mission. They had escape plans, but it was clear very few people in that room gave a damn if they worked. Or if they even existed. She'd been through hell for the man they were dismissing like so much dross and all because... She wasn't that sure why because at this point. It was about Saul, really, and she knew that. That's why when he made a passing comment that made it sound damn like he'd made his decision and Brody didn't figure into it at all, she felt her stomach lurch so badly she almost had to leave the room.

She didn't go to him that night, that would be stupid. She waited a day, all of which was spent wondering when she would throw up. She got there late, just before dark, and sat back to watch the men finish up before meal break. He looked good. Better than when she saw him last, even.

He laughed softly, roughly, against her lips before kissing her again. When he pulled back, he started moving again, grinning at her. "No you won't. You like variety."

She scoffed at him. "You don't think you could provide variety right here? I have more faith in you than that." She probably would get bored, eventually, but it would take a while. "Wouldn't mind trying that. See how long we last."

He stopped moving so that he could laugh. He dug his nails into her breast as he watched her, watching her eyes. "Need the house first. And a bed."

She arched hard against him, not wanting him to stop even for laughter. "Right. House. Bed. Then..." She arched again, grinding against him. "Got it. It's a date." It sounded so good she whimpered softly.

Just because she didn't want him to stop meant he was going to. Buried deep inside her, he went still, not even pinching her. "Good."

It took her a moment to realize he was being difficult. Then she did the only thing she really could do without starting a fight. She glared at him. "You're impossible." She didn't explain what she meant. He knew. She could see it in his eyes. "And I will get you back."

His grin broadened and he nodded before kissing her again. Then his hips started to roll, working both of them back up. He ran his nails down her side, leaving marks, before pinching over her hip bone.

She groaned loudly, half pleasure and half mock annoyance. "I'm pale, too, you know. I'm going to bruise if you keep doing that." Not that she minded much. They were on their own now. They could do what they wanted. And he wouldn't really hurt her. She rocked against him again. "Please?"

He chuckled roughly and pinched her harder. "Yes, ma'am." Anything she wanted, anything at all.

That was so unfair and he knew it. She shuddered with pleasure. "I am going to get you back for that. I'll think of something. Something to make you squirm like a happy puppy." The way she was fighting not to. "I'll do it."

It was odd to threaten him with more pleasure, but she did mean it.

"Scary." He smirked, even as he withdrew from her. He grabbed her hips and forced her onto her belly, pulling her hips up as he could take her again. Now he had the whole of her back to touch and the advantage of her not knowing what he was going to do next.

The man fought dirty and she told him so as she went over. Then she stopped for a moment as she realized how much she could feel the growing lump in her belly when she was flat like that. Not that it was uncomfortable, just weird. She arched up some and shook it off. "Not fair, big man." She bucked into him. "Fuck, feels so good, though."

"If it feels good, it's fair." He ran his hands over her back, his nails against her skin. He leaned over her, changing the angle, and nipped her shoulder hard.

She snorted a laugh, but didn't argue with him. She did let out a yelp at his bite, though. That was going to leave a mark. The idea that it didn't matter one bit made her shudder hard. "Fuck, yes." She'd closed around him at the same time and she kept holding on. "So good."

He breathed heavy in her ear as he moved, occasionally nipping her lobe or her shoulder. His hands slid back to her hips and he held her still as he rocked against her.

He rubbed, soothing where he had pinched, before pinching her again. Why she expected him to fight fair, ever, was beyond him. She knew him, in some ways better than he knew himself, and fairness had never played into things between them.

The rub before the pinch confused her, even though it shouldn't have. It only made the pinch go through her that much stronger and she swore fervently, very nearly begging him to do it again. She bucked into him, forcing him deeper. "Delicious. Love this, the way it feels."

He held her tight as he drove into her, whispering how good she felt in her ear. He told her how much better than drugs she was, which might not have been fair, putting that on her, but it was the truth all the same.

She'd used lots of men for that and none of them got close to reaching her the way he did so she understood completely what he meant. Together they were healing, they were building, not tearing down. She nodded firmly and echoed his words back to him like a prayer.

"Love you." That was probably also not terribly fair, but he wasn't playing fair anyway, so what did it matter. He pressed his teeth hard to her shoulder, coming close to breaking skin.

She couldn't answer that with words, not in the middle of the act, not when they still felt like they were on the run. But she nodded strongly in agreement, wanting him to be clear that she agreed. It helped that she was panting with need and it would have been very difficult for her to get anything out.
