Briefings with Saul were getting more and more tense. Carrie could feel the strain on all of them as a real, palpable thing. Beside her, no one had ever had much faith in Brody, which was largely her fault. How could she explain her change of heart without explaining it was exactly that. What was harder was not telling him about how bad it was. Every time she was vague it was a physical pain.

The final straw was a heated conversation about what they would do if he were found out, revealed to be on a mission. They had escape plans, but it was clear very few people in that room gave a damn if they worked. Or if they even existed. She'd been through hell for the man they were dismissing like so much dross and all because... She wasn't that sure why because at this point. It was about Saul, really, and she knew that. That's why when he made a passing comment that made it sound damn like he'd made his decision and Brody didn't figure into it at all, she felt her stomach lurch so badly she almost had to leave the room.

She didn't go to him that night, that would be stupid. She waited a day, all of which was spent wondering when she would throw up. She got there late, just before dark, and sat back to watch the men finish up before meal break. He looked good. Better than when she saw him last, even.

He grinned broadly, then bucked into her again. "Please, what? You have to tell me, babe. Tell me what you need."

She wanted to make him wait more, but she couldn't do it. The heat between them was starting to make her jumpy. She might hurt him if she had to hold off much longer. "Clothes." She groaned and tried again. "Clothes off. Please."

"I don't think that's really what you want, baby." He pressed more firmly against her, grinding against her pelvis. "I think you want to keep doing this."

She actually growled at him, but she played along, pressing harder into him. She got her hands firmly on his back and worked to let him know just how wrong he was, digging her nails in. "Will be so much better with skin. You like my skin. Smooth, soft skin."

Well, when she put it like that... He pulled away from her for a moment, yanking his pants open and shoving them down. Then he went to work on her.

She had to laugh at his sudden eagerness. Helping him, they were undressed quickly and she immediately settled on top of him. Moving her hands over him, she watched him for a long moment, then leaned in to kiss along his neck. "Much better. Perfect even."

He looked up at her now that their positions were switched and he groaned thickly. "Not quite perfect. Getting there."

Her laugh was remarkably light given all the stresses on them. At least they could still joke with each other. And, of course, she would never deny him something so simple. Shifting slowly, she first rubbed herself against him for a moment, then lifted a little to guide him inside. She moaned thickly as she sank onto him. "Closer?"

He nodded even as he whimpered. "Much closer." His hands slid down her sides and he squeezed her hips as he rocked under her. "Oh yeah. Much closer."

She laughed weakly shaking her head at him. "I'm glad we got that worked out." She rocked against him, staying close to him as she moved. The feel of him inside her made her shiver. "So damn good."

His hands moved around to her back, scratching lightly as he held her close. His lips found hers and he kissed her deeply, moaning against her lips.

She answered his moan with a deep one of her own. Her hips moved faster against him as they kissed. She couldn't help it. Not that she tried. She caressed his face gently, fighting to keep the touch light. Otherwise, she'd end up scratching him. Not a good thing to do to his face. Finally she broke out of the kiss, whimpering softly. "Fuck. Love you."

He couldn't help his grin as he moved under her. "Of course you do." He lifted his head and caught her in another kiss. That connection was important.

She practically growled at being prevented from replying to him. To make up for it, she ground harder against him, whimpering at how deep he went. It was odd how it felt different now. Still good. Still excellent, really, but different. She dug her fingers into his shoulders, trying to tell him how good.

His eyes fluttered shut and he moaned against her lips as he drove under her. Her nails into his shoulders deepened his moan and his thrusts. He was going to be so glad when they didn't share a wall with anyone.

Smiling against his lips at his reaction to her nails, she pressed harder. Then she slammed into him because she couldn't do anything else. She was already well on the spiral up, knowing she'd fall any moment. She needed him to be close, too, so she added a deep moan. If there was a plea in there, it wasn't her fault.

He heard that plea and dug his nails into her hips. She felt so good like this, even it was this rough and raw. He loved it. Loved her. It made it all so hard and so easy at the same time.

They did rough and raw well. If they didn't also do tender well, then she'd worry. These days on the road had convinced her she'd made the right choice. Not the easy one. Not the one anyone else would understand, but the right one. She arched into him, shuddering hard, and let go. Her release crashed over her hard enough to take her breath away.

The way she let go pushed him and he whimpered her name as he bucked under her, letting go himself. It was almost too much and he had to hold on tightly to keep from flipping her over to finish himself off.

She would have been fine with whatever he needed to do. Certainly they'd thrown each other around plenty. And she loved knowing that he was strong again. Healthy again. She ground into him, pushing him as hard as she good even as she trembled. These moments were the best.

She was going to push him right over that edge. He snarled and rolled them, driving hard into her the last few thrusts. He moaned her name against her lips as he finished, straining hard into her.

She went down with a soft laugh, moving against him as soon as she landed. No way she was going to make him do all the work. As he started to settle, she lightly touched his face. "Hmmm, thank you."

He chuckled against her neck. "Why are you thanking me, baby?"

She smiled softly. "Shouldn't I thank you for a lovely gift?" She shrugged slightly. It was a shared gift, but still. She shifted closer, wrapping a leg around him. "Felt so good."

"Dinner and a show, baby. Dinner and a show." He wrapped her up in his arms and nuzzled her hair. "Always feels good."
