Let's try for a happy ending this time

Between the runs and drills and weapons practice, there was still time for the kind of exercise that lowered stress rather than ramping it up. Boys being boys, pick up footbal games happened fairly often. Not just a way to let off steam, they were a way to increase bonding between the team, particularly with a new member. For Carrie, it was a way to watch Brody and evaluate his health and stability. That watching him made her belly clench with need was something she was going to have to deal with on her own time. She added it to the list.

When the game ended and the men headed for water, Carrie caught Brody's eye and nodded slightly to the space beside her. He nodded even more slightly, then worked his way over amidst much back slapping and macho posing. When he flopped down beside her, she shook her head. "It never changes, does it? That particular brand of macho."

He laughed softly and glanced at the guys. "With this bunch? No." And he clearly meant himself in "that bunch". He watched her for a long moment, then looked away. "Little disappointed you weren't waving pom poms."

She rolled her eyes. "Really? Can you pic-- Okay, sure you can picture it, but do you really think I ever did it?"

He sighed deeply. "That's it, kill my fantasy." He bumped her shoulder with his. "You'd have looked adorable."

She rolled her eyes again, but at the same time, she rested her head on his shoulder. "I was even skinnier and jumpier. It wasn't a good look." What she meant was more crazy, but she was sure he knew that. She didn't mention that she'd seen plenty of pictures of him as a teenager, most of them with an equally young Jessica. There was no way she was heading into that minefield.

He took her hand and lifted it so he could kiss it. "It helps, but you know that."

She swallowed hard, then shrugged. "Goes both ways. But you know that."

He nodded, then let the conversation go for a while, seemingly happy to enjoy her company. Not that she had an idea what he was really thinking. All she could go on was how he was with the Seals, how he was during briefings, and how he was when he didn't know she was watching. If asked, she'd say he was doing well and to her eye he was doing better than she'd hoped. Stronger, healthier, calmer. Of course, she knew how fragile it all was.

What she wanted to do was get him alone and use the connection that had always proved so efficient at stabilizing both of them, but the quarters were just too tight and he was already geetting enough grief from the team. Still, she didn't let that stop her from kissing his hand again. There were parts of him she'd prefer to kiss, but privacy was at a premium. Instead she leaned hard against him and sighed softy. Being close was like a battery recharge and she drank it up. She hoped that she was giving him the same thing.

Hopefully the boys would trust he was okay, for a while, while in her care. She shifted under him, not to get comfortable but to get more firmly against him. Her hands went around to his back where she immediately started pulling at his shirt so she could get to skin. They didn't have long and she wanted the purest expression they could get.

The moment her fingers hit skin, he whimpered against her lips. He couldn't help the shudder that moved through him or the intensification of the kiss. She was suddenly very, very real under him and there was little doubt in his mind that this wasn't a dream.

She was probably the realest thing in his world right now, for so many reasons. Most of which she wasn't allowing herself to think of at all. Losing herself in the kisses brought back memories of other kisses, from the first to the last. She wanted to believe they'd have more time for this kind of sweet touch.

She kept the touch light, tender, but she never let up. Her hands went everywhere she could reach that was skin.

As long as she kept things light, he wasn't overwhelmed too much. He let himself sink into the way she felt under him, let himself be absorbed by what they could be together. His mind floated, everything that had happened, everything that could happen, drifted away and was replaced by the way they were in that moment.

When he reached the point of not knowing where his lips ended and hers began, he pulled away slowly and smiled down at her. Then he pressed his lips against her neck even as he inhaled deeply.

Her whimper at the loss of his lips was interrupted by a near sob of pleasure when he picked another place. She could only blink at him in the few seconds that passed in between. After a long moment, she got used to the new stimulus and managed to uncurl her fingers so she wasn't in danger of clawing his back. "Every time I think it can't get better." She snorted softy and turned enough to kiss his temple.

He smiled against her neck and nodded, his hand slipping up under her shirt. Her skin was warm, soft, and he whimpered against her neck. He pressed more firmly against her, his hips rocking slightly.

She pressed her face against his shoulder for a long moment, hoping to keep back any shaking, but she wasn't at all sure it was going to work. The longer they touched, the worse her need got. "God, your hands. Love your hands.

"Love touching you. Dreamt about touching you. Need to touch you." His teeth scrapped against her neck as his hand pushed past the waist of her pants.

"Dreamt?" She groaned even as she shifted to help him get her pants open. "Done that, too. Woke up and could still feel you..." She swallowed hard. "Inside me."

She shuddered. "Missed you."

It was his turn to groan and he pulled away from her. His urgency, his need, took over, and he pulled her pants down and out of the way before going to work on his own. He was straining against his fly, his hands shaking, even as he leaned down kiss her again.

She wanted to help him because that would let her get to skin faster, but she couldn't pull away from the kiss. Instead she went up on her elbow so she could reach as he moved and so she had leverage to lift her hips. She shuddered at being so bare in the woods with his team so close.

Not that she was going to let that stop them.

He finally freed himself and attacked her again. He wasted no time filling her, crying against her lips as he settled over her. He wrapped his arms around her as he started to move, letting himself be consumed by her.

Consumed was a good word for it. Or possessed which was where her mind went. Every first entry reminded her of the cabin, of how badly she'd wanted it to be bad, for it to not consume her this way. But it was never bad. Never. Even with pine needles stabbing her ass.

She murmured against his lips, something about it being good, about how good it always was. She'd never remember saying any of it.

She'd never remember saying it, but it would carry him for a while to come. Whimpering, he started to move more urgently against her. He kissed her harder, quieting her so that they could both simply enjoy the moment. It was necessary, her silence, or everything he was doing would be lost. He would give up the mission to be with her. He would give it all up to be with her.

Of course, if he gave it up, he still wouldn't be with her. This was their only chance. If it didn't work, they were sunk. He'd end up dead or in jail and she'd end up alone. Both those options were unthinkable, so she didn't let herself think about them. They got shoved back into their compartments where they belonged.

She moved with him, meeting his hips with equal force, letting out a soft grunt of pleasure with each one. She blushed more furiously each time.

The grunting made him smile against her lips, and matched his own. It was not pretty or slow, or even gentle. It was pure need, the need to be with her, the need to reconnect, the need to feel human for just a few minutes.

Neither of them was going to last long, not like this. The need to connect was too strong. The need to be right with the world, which they could only seem to do like this. She brought her hand to his head, nails on his scull, then down to his back. Her nails were softer where she could leave marks.

Given that he was shaved close, even his head was subject to visible scratches. NOt that he gave one little damn about it. All he cared about was the way she felt under him, around him. He nipped at her lip before pulling back to smile down at her.

He felt like he should say something.

He felt like anything he said would ruin it.

So he just kept smiling, and hoping that they'd make it through. And that they wouldn't be interrupted in these few more minutes that he needed.

The smile was enough. That expression held truth. It held immediacy. She managed to smile back at him, her expression holding as much affection and need. She wished it could display more certainty, but that was out of fear for him. And she couldn't help that at all.

He looked at her for as long as he could, then he whimpered and buried his face against her neck. His climax came moments later and he went rigid over her as he emptied.

Brody sighed softly as he collapsed fully against her. He could have slept, but just as he got settled and had his eyes closed, he heard movement coming up the trail. With a disheartened grunt, he pulled away from her and tried to get himself pulled back together before they were discovered.

Carrie swore softly, but creatively, under her breath when she heard what he had. Then she went for her clothes and got them on quickly. Let them see his naked ass, they'd seen it before. "More than fifteen minutes. Is that too much to ask?"

She was dressed before he was, and he did get caught with his pants down. He smirked in anticipation of the heckling he was going to get, right before it came. They were walked up on by 3 of his team and they were hooting add soon add they saw him.

Despite being dressed, she moved a little behind him. If they gave him too much shit, she'd say something, but it seemed so disarmingly good natured that she rolled her eyes. Boys with toys, even if she was the toy. She shook her head and ran her hand over Brody's back for a moment. "Did you think I'd steal him?"
