Brody attending the meeting Walker had so casually mentioned turned into a three ring circus. More than one person involved was convinced the whole thing was a wild goose chase, including Carrie occasionally. If she hadn't seen Walker as up close and personal as she had when they were first rescued, she could have been convinced. Maybe sending Brody to a regular meeting for returning vets who were also Muslim was just a kind of fuck you from a man who felt he'd been betrayed by a brother soldier. Or it could be something much more sinister. The problem was, no one could really figure out what that sinister was supposed to be. Carrie continued to maintain that Brody had no idea what was going on.

The questions Brody faced right after the meeting ranged from if he knew any of the people there already to how was he planning to overthrow the US government. When the questions headed that way a majority of the time, Carrie called foul and got Brody out of there. With full understanding of the irony involved, they had decided that the cover that would work best with his family was that he was working with other vets on integrating back into the world. Carrie would have felt a lot worse about that if it was just being used to cover up them fucking around. She still felt pretty shitty about it given how much stress it was putting on him.

They took their own cars back to her place. She got there before him and immediately opened a fresh bottle of wine, leaving a full glass on the counter for him, then she went upstairs to change into something decidedly less official looking.

On their way to their seats, one of the other customers gave them a wave and asked if Brody was going to perform again, which made Carrie laugh. She was going to insist he perform for her again, but not until they got back to the cabin. Not that she didn't want to hear him sing again, but she wanted more of their time to be private now.

She pulled her chair close to his and put her head on his shoulder. "Never letting you get too far away again."

Brody's response was that he'd play one more song before they left, then he sat down with Carrie. Once her head as on his shoulder, he kissed her hair. "So I've noticed. Not much will get done, though. You can't keep your hands off me."

Even as she protested that it was all him, she slid a hand up his thigh to his groin. She kept the touch light, just wanting to tease her recovering lover. "You keep me focused." She licked her lips, surprised she'd said it that way. "Not a bad thing."

He kissed her, chasing her tongue with a grin. "Not a bad thing at all." He sighed happily, then ordered them fresh beers. "Another beer, a song, then we get outta here?"

She nodded firmly, more than happy to do what they needed to get out of there. "Can't disappoint your fans." She laughed softly. "Here I am, sharing you with others. This time I don't mind so much."

He rubbed her back and nodded. "Because you know I'm leaving here with you." He lowered his voice. "Because you're stuck with me, babe."

She turned and kissed him hard. He was the best thing, besides her work, that she had in her life. So her sister wouldn't be happy and her mentor already was pretty much livid and he was married. None of that mattered. "I'm good with that."

Their beers arrived and he sipped at his as he talked to her. Since he'd already played and sung for her once, he decided it was safe to tell her about learning. So he rambled on about that for a little while as they drank.

Music and learning were among her favorite things so the conversation flowed easily. She talked to him about her earliest experiences learning languages. As always, she was struck by how easy it was, how open.

The sharing was fun, it felt good. He was truly enjoying himself. So he kept talking until the band took another break. Then he kissed her forehead and headed back to the piano.

Since he was only playing one more song, he decided to go with something fun. And for the feign. So he started with a few bars of slow before breaking into Great Balls of Fire.

This time at least half the crowd was expecting him to put on a decent show. When he let loose, they went nuts. People sang and clapped along, cheering him on as much for her as for their own enjoyment. As the final notes died, she got up and went to him, kissing him hard as his reward. The crowd went nuts again.

After the applause and the kiss, either of plenty and both of them almost too much, Brody blushed deeply and tucked his face against her neck. "We should go before they refuse to let us leave."

"Damn right. I've shared you enough." She kissed his burning cheek, then took his hand and led him off the stage. Waving to their crowd, she thanked them all and promised to bring him back some day. They also made a point to thank the real band for letting him play.

Then they were in the car, alone, headed back to the cabin. She drove so he could unwind, but she kept her hand on his leg as often as she could. When they were touching, nothing could go wrong, or so her heart kept telling her.

Once at the cabin, she got to work making them a fire. "You have any other surprises for me?"

He handled pulling out the bed and getting it made so they could lay there and enjoy the fire. "I can juggle?" He grinned at her as he stripped, tossing his clothes into a pile before flopping down on the bed.

That made her laugh. Juggling, after a fashion, was something they were both frighteningly good at. Her better than him, maybe, but he was showing promise. She took a little longer to undress, standing by the fire so he could watch the light on her skin.

"You're beautiful." She flushed a little after she said it, brushing her hair from her face to cover it.

He watched her undress with a smile, then chuckled at her comment. "I was about to say the same thing." He held his hand out for her, pulling her into bed with him.

Once she was settled next to him, he lightly ran his hand over her spine. "I love touching you. You feel so good. You smell so good."

She curled close, one leg wrapped over his. They were in that stage where they were enamored of each other, but that didn't make any of it any less true. She kissed hisjaw. "It's just my soap." Hiding her gave against his throat. "Ilk get you some."

"It's not going to smell the same as a bar of soap. It would be missing your body chemistry." He nuzzled get hair. "And that didn't cover it all anyway. You know that. Taste and smell are related. And you taste amazing."

She could still remember the taste of her juices on his fingers and his words made her shudder. It was a near thing that she didn't grab his hair and shove him down toward her groin. Her hand did twitch. "I could rub the soap all over me first?" She groaned at the thought of standing in the shower, soaking wet, caressing herself and thinking of him. "Oh, wait, I do that anyway when you're not there."

She let the tone of her voice fill in the missing details.

He groaned, imagining what she wasn't saying so easily. His fingers lingered on her ass, teasing her. "Rather just smell you."

She arched back toward his hand, then forward to rub against his hip. Then with a low moan, back again. She turned her head some so he could have her neck. "Any time. Any part of me." She shivered and ground against his hip. "Fuck. You bring out my inner tramp. Hi, I'm Carrie, fuck me please?"

"You want it soft or rough, babe?" He was game for anything and he nipped at her neck while she considered her options. His fingers pressed between her thighs, teasing her even more.

She whimpered in surprise. "That was a general statement." Her hips moved more rapidly, seeking his fingers and the pleasure they could give. She slid up a little so she could nip at him, her tongue flicking over his lips to soothe where she'd bitten. "Not your cock I want right now." She laughed. "Not yet."

He smirked. "Well, what do you want, then, babe? What part of me? " He had an idea, given what he'd being talking about, but he wanted to hear her say it.

She ran a finger over his lips, nearly growling with need, as she rocked against him. "If you like the way I taste, then it would be a lovely thing if you tasted me." She smiled at him broadly. "Now. That would be good."
