Groaning, his head dropped back. He couldn't watch her. He had to just feel it. Jess never took the same care with his scars as Carrie had. It was strange, really, how profound the difference really was. It was the thing that made Carrie someone he could actually trust with himself and Jess someone who scared him, no matter how hard he tried.
