If he'd said that to her, she probably have flipped out. That any of this seemed reasonable was madness. Her dreams, though, seemed to be completely comfortable with all the changes. They were in the house, all three of them. She didn't realize the baby was there at first, more concentrated on being in the kitchen with him. Then the cry came and she went running like it was the most natural thing. Back in the kitchen, she rocked the baby as though that was her place. She'd rocked babies before, of course, but not for a while. And for it to be hers...
